Description: Founded in 1999, Princeton in Africa (PiAf) develops young leaders committed to Africa's advancement by offering yearlong fellowship opportunities with a variety of organizations that work across the African continent.

Princeton in Africa has developed partnerships with leading organizations working throughout Africa. Fellows have worked in numerous fields including: humanitarian aid; public health; education; conservation; post-conflict reconstruction and social entrepreneurship.

Princeton in Africa creates an excellent opportunity for both partner organizations and Fellows, where organizations enjoy access to an exceptionally motivated and talented group of young people, and Fellows gain a unique experience in Africa that translates into a lifelong commitment to African affairs and service.

Program Preferences: The program attempts to make the best matches between applicants and partner organizations in the field. PiAf must take into consideration candidates' skills, backgrounds, and preferences as well as our partners' needs.

Duration: Fellowships are 12 months long. The exact start and end dates are to be determined by the host organization and the Fellow once the candidate has been confirmed. Fellows generally begin between June and September and are in place for 12 months (until the following summer).

National Deadline: 11:59pm EDT on Sunday, Oct. 30th, 2016
