Who Can Apply: freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students – all majors – GPA of 3.0 or higher required. Basic survival Chinese language proficiency is required.

NOTE: Not open to Republic of China (Taiwan) nationals, overseas Chinese students, or students currently studying in Taiwan, or current recipients of this or other scholarships awarded by the government or educational system of Taiwan.

NOTE: Applicants selected for the scholarship must undergo a medical examination.

 

Description: This scholarship provides funding for students who want to study Mandarin at a university- or college-affiliated Mandarin training center. The scholarship program is not tied to any one particular center, but rather asks students to select and apply to a Mandarin training center separately. Students may choose to study for 1 – 12 months from September 1 – August 31.

Award: Monthly stipend of NT$25,000 (roughly $833 USD). Scholarship recipients are responsible for all housing, tuition fees, health insurance and travel costs.
